[Text appears on screen: What is your favourite planet and why?]
[Image changes to show a girl speaking]
Child: My favourite planet is Pluto because...
[Image changes to show a girl speaking]
Child: It’s, well Pluto, and it’s really blue and cool, and I like the colour blue.
[Image changes to show a boy speaking]
Child: It’s unknown and you don’t really know what’s going to be on there, so it’s kind of like a mystery thing.
[Image changes to show a girl speaking]
Child: It’s the colour of orange and yellow, and the colour of the sunset. That’s why I like it.
[Text appears on screen: How do you think Pluto feels not being a planet anymore?]
[Image changes to show a girl speaking]
Child: If I was Pluto I would feel so upset, angry and stressed. I would feel left out and unlucky.
[Image changes to show a girl speaking]
Child: I’d feel really, really, really sad, and a bit angry.
[Image changes to show a girl speaking]
Child: Well I would feel left out.
[Image changes to show a boy speaking]
Child: I’d feel just lonely because no-one’s really trusting you, and they’re just kicking you out of like a friendship ring.
[Text appears on screen: What do you think Pluto looks like?]
[Image changes to show a girl speaking]
Child: Maybe orange or red sort of colour.
[Image changes to show a boy speaking]
Child: I think Pluto would look like a big grey ball just floating around in space.
[Image changes to show a girl speaking]
Child: I think it would look probably a bit white, but mostly blue, and cold, look cold.
[Text appears on screen: What would you say if you could call Pluto on the phone?]
[Image changes to show a boy speaking]
Child: If I could make a phone call to Pluto I would say, “Hello, the man on Pluto, how are you going? Is it fun and cool on Pluto?”
[Image changes to show a boy speaking]
Child: I would say, “I’m sorry about what happened to you, and how you got kicked out of the planets.”
[Image changes to show a girl speaking]
Child: “What is it like being there? Is it fun, sad or scary?”
[Text appears on screen: If you were travelling to Pluto what would you take with you?]
[Image changes to show a boy speaking]
Child: If I was travelling to Pluto I would take a lot of food for the journey.
[Image changes to show a boy speaking]
Child: I would take some warm clothes.
[Image changes to show a boy speaking]
Child: Does Pluto have any cheese, like the moon?
[Image changes to show a girl speaking]
Child: My mum. I would take her because she’s like my best friend.
[Image changes to show a boy speaking]
Child: Toys and water.
[Image changes to show a girl speaking]
Child: And a hairbrush, because I love to do my hair.
[Text appears on screen: Why do you think Pluto is so interesting?]
[Image changes to show a girl speaking]
Child: It’s a planet, and it’s really far away and it’s really cool.
[Image changes to show a boy speaking]
Child: You could be the first person to go on it.
[Image changes to show a girl speaking]
Child: It probably has lots of different colours.
[Image changes to show a boy speaking]
Child: I think Pluto’s interesting because anything can happen on there. It’s not like you know what’s going to happen on there. Weird stuff can happen on Pluto.
[Text appears on screen: This was filmed at the CSIRO Discovery Centre in Canberra, with the help of Grade 3 students from St Jude’s Primary School]
