Timelapse video showing six of the Australian Square Kilometre Array Pathfinder's (ASKAP) 36 antennas working underneath the night sky. Antennas were custom lit to produce this stunning rainbow effect.

This timelapse was captured by the award-winning Australian ‘astro’ photographer Alex Cherney at CSIRO's Murchison Radio-astronomy Observatory in remote Western Australia.

The antennas are lit by portable white LED lights placed on the ground in front of each antenna, with each light being coloured a different shade.

The timelapse was captured with a Canon 6D using aTamron 15-30mm f/2.8 lens, and was created by animating 715 10 second ISO 3200 exposures at 25 frames per second.
