We are one of the world’s largest and most multidisciplinary research organisations, working to create a better future for Australians.
In 2024–25, we continue to provide innovative scientific and technology solutions to benefit the nation – our economy, our community and our environment.
Some of the ways we've continued this commitment include:
- Maintaining research infrastructure to enable Australian industries to translate science into solutions, like our RV Investigator which assisted in the discovery of 9 shipwrecks since it’s commissioning in 2014.
- Engaging with more than 5,000 partners in government, research and industry to deliver our vision, including nearly 2,000 small-to medium-sized enterprises.
Some of the results we delivered this year include:
- Main Sequence (Deep Tech venture capital fund) had over $1 billion in funds under management and invested in 12 new companies.
- The National Research Collections Australia relocated 13 million specimens from the national and wildlife and insect collections to the new Australian National Herbarium at Black Mountain.
- The first NovaSAR-1 Australia National Mosaic dataset was released.
