GFG Foundation Student Programme – Whyalla SA, Newcastle NSW, George Town Tasmania
We are now inviting applications from prospective mentors employed at GFG Alliance work sites in Whyalla SA, Newcastle NSW and George Town Tasmania, to support our secondary school programme participants in 2022. We are seeking applicants from across a range of business units, and with a wide range of experience and professional skills including STEM professionals, Administrative professionals, and Business Support and Development professionals.
Mentors are required to participate in a 90-minute face to face session with students each week for 20 weeks, from 4pm to 5.30pm, on
- Wednesdays, terms 3 & 4, 2022 (George Town, year 9 &10 programme)
- Tuesdays, terms 2 & 3, 2022 (Newcastle, year 9 &10 programme)
- Wednesdays, terms 2 & 3, 2022 (Whyalla, year 9 &10 programme)
- Thursdays, term 3 only, 2022 (Whyalla, year 7 & 8 programme)
Prior to the programme commencing, mentors will be required to participate in training sessions provided by both CSIRO, and NAPCAN (National Association for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect). Mentors are required to hold a current Working With Children Check. CSIRO Education and Outreach will support mentors to obtain these checks.
