GFG Foundation Student Programme – Whyalla SA, Newcastle NSW, George Town Tasmania, Laverton VIC, Tahmoor NSW
We are now inviting applications from prospective mentors employed at GFG Alliance work sites in Whyalla SA, Newcastle NSW , George Town Tasmania, Laverton VIC and Tahmoor NSW, to support our secondary school programme participants in 2023. We are seeking applicants from across a range of business units, and with a wide range of experience and professional skills including STEM professionals, Administrative professionals, and Business Support and Development professionals.
Face to face sessions
Mentors are required to participate in a 90-minute face to face session with students each week either for 20 weeks (year 9/10 programme) or 10 weeks ( year 7/8 programme) from 4pm to 5.30pm.
Prior to the programme commencing, mentors will be required to participate in training sessions provided by both CSIRO, and NAPCAN (National Association for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect). Mentors are required to hold a current Working With Children Check. CSIRO Education and Outreach will support mentors to obtain these checks.
