About the placement

This internship is with Emergent Group and is facilitated by the CSIRO's Generation STEM Links program.

You will work within an interdisciplinary team to use AI (specifically LLMs) to connect internal knowledge bases, like SharePoint and company repositories to streamline tasks such as writing proposals and generating content aware reports. This opportunity will allow you to gather insight into where a career in computer science can take you, and gain experience working in an interdisciplinary and collaborative environment.

Work arrangements

  • Start date: December, 2025 Please note that Emergent group will shut down from 19 December, 2025 until 12 January, 2026
  • Working arrangement: Full Time or Part time for 200 hours on a fixed term contract
  • Remuneration: $31.25 + super on a casual contract with Emergent Group
  • Location: Mayfield West, Newcastle, NSW (some remote work may be accommodated)

Desired capabilities

  • Studying Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or other related STEM degree
  • Experience with AI, LLM and SharePoint
  • High level problem solving and communication skills
  • Organisation skills with the ability to plan and prioritise

Requirements

  • Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Must be in your penultimate or final year of an undergraduate qualification.
