About the placement
This internship is with The Missing Link and is facilitated by the CSIRO’s Generation STEM Links program. This internship is designed to provide a practical introduction to all there is to know about IT support. We do not expect you to have prior technical experience, but we do ask that you come with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
During the internship you will receive ongoing personal mentoring and coaching to develop a solid understanding of IT support and develop skills for any future role in the IT sector.
As an Intern with The Missing Link, you will learn how to:
- Assist in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Create and remove user accounts.Build and deploy computers to meet client requirements.
- Respond to clients' IT-related alerts and resolve their technical issues.
- Triage and assign incoming tickets through our ticketing system.
- Solve “Fast Track” tickets (common, well documented requests) for our clients. deliver exceptional customer service and technical support over phone and email. deliver IT support best practices (ITIL V4)
Work Arrangements
- Start date: January, 2025
- Working arrangement: 13 weeks – 2 days per week, with the possibility for further employment for the right candidate
- Remuneration: $25/hour plus super on a temporary contract with The Missing Link
- Location: Artarmon, NSW
Desired capabilities
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
- Strong passion for technology and an eagerness to learn.
- Excellent written, verbal, and non-verbal communications skills.
- Willingness to learn and collaborate in a team environment.
- Logical problem-solving skills.
- Good attention to detail.
- Engaging personally that reflects through your communication.
- Excellent phone manner under pressure.
- Good time management skills.
- Customer service experience.
Requirements
- Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
- Must be in your penultimate or final year of an undergraduate or TAFE qualification.
