About the placement
This internship is with Komatsu and is facilitated by the CSIRO's Generation STEM Links program.
In this role you will work hands on with the team on some of their core control systems and gain exposure to mining product development and safety standards. Your role will involve utilising your electrical design knowledge to examine an existing mechanical/electrical system on Joy machinery. Other aspects of this role will see you assisting in trouble shooting and problem solving, investigate process improvements and cost savings and updating documentation.
Work arrangements
- Start date: Mid November.
- Working arrangement: Full time hours Monday- Friday on a Casual contract from Mid- November until late January, 2026.
- Remuneration: $31.19/hour + Super.
- Location: Moss Vale, NSW – Onsite. (~50mins south of Campbeltown, ~1hr North-West of Wollongong).
Desired capabilities
- Currently studying a Bachelor of Electrical or Mechatronic engineering (penultimate or final year).
- Basic experience with AutoCAD is preferred but not essential.
- Strong interest in electrical control and automation.
- Curious, proactive, and eager to learn.
Requirements
- Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
- Must be in your penultimate or final year of an undergraduate qualification.
