About the placement
This internship is with Casella Family Brands and is facilitated by the CSIRO’s Generation STEM Links program.
You will work within an interdisciplinary team to monitor and assess fruit quality and quantity in vineyards. This role also will have you complete testing of the produce and reporting the results to the Grower Services Manager. You will travel to local vineyards and communicate with their clients, use specialist technology and be an important step in the grape to bottle journey. This opportunity will allow you to gather insight into where a career in agriculture and viticulture can take you, and gain experience working in a collaborative environment.
Work arrangements
- Start date: January 2026 until the end of March, 2026.
- Working arrangement: Full Time for over 200 hours on a fixed term contract
- Remuneration: $45.22 /hour plus superannuation on a temporary contract with Casella Family Brands
- Observe and follow all Work Health and Safety (WHS), Environmental, and Quality programs, policies, and procedures in line with Casella Family Brands’ operational standards
- Location: Yenda – this is about 6 hours from Sydney (approx 20 minutes from Griffith) - Casella Family Brands does not have accommodation on site but can help you find local rental accommodation.
Desired capabilities
- Studying agriculture, viticulture or a related field
- Team player that can work independently
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work in extreme climates (resources provided to support you)
- Full drivers’ licence with a safe driving record
- Complete a pre-employment medical test
Requirements
- Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
- Must be in your penultimate or final year of an undergraduate qualification.
