About the placement

This internship is with SportLogic and is facilitated by the CSIRO’s Generation STEM Links program.

You will work within an interdisciplinary team and assist with the design, development focuses on software quality assurance and feature refinement, offering hands-on experience in the software development lifecycle. As a Software Engineer intern you will primarily test and fix software features, identifying bugs, inconsistencies, and areas for improvement. This involves executing test cases, exploring edge cases, and ensuring software meets functional and non-functional requirements. Working closely with software developers, you will assist in debugging identified issues and implementing fixes, potentially contributing to code changes. Collaboration extends to product managers to align with product goals and potentially with end-users for direct feedback. A key aspect of the role is leveraging AI tools for research, which can include analysing bug reports, suggesting test cases, researching solutions, and summarising documentation. The intern will also be responsible for reporting identified issues with clear documentation and contributing to the planning for fixing these issues. This role is ideal for someone passionate about software quality, eager to learn, and looking to make a tangible impact while developing critical skills in testing, debugging, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication, all enhanced by cutting-edge AI tools.
