About the host workplace
Allegro Energy is an Australian clean energy technology company based in the Hunter region of NSW, developing long-duration energy storage solutions to support the transition to a low-carbon energy system. Founded in 2021, Allegro has developed a patented water-based microemulsion electrolyte technology for use in redox flow batteries.
The technology is designed to provide safe, cost-effective and scalable long-duration energy storage using abundant, globally available materials, without reliance on critical minerals such as lithium, vanadium or cobalt. Allegro’s team brings together scientists, engineers and commercial specialists working across research and development, engineering, manufacturing and deployment. Its pilot manufacturing facility is located in Thornton, NSW, where the company continues to develop and manufacture its technology.
