About STEM Together Future Shapers

STEM Together Future Shapers is a recognition program that celebrates 21st Century skills (like curiosity and problem solving) and building capability, confidence, and connection with STEM.

It has two categories:

  • Young Future Shapers – Those in Years 5-10 that identify as being from at least one of the following key groups: female, Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander; from schools in regional areas; or from schools in lower opportunity areas.

  • Adult Future Shapers – community members, educators and STEM professionals that support young people from key groups.

Applications for Adult Future Shapers are open now.

‘Future Shapers’ choose a prize or experience to take their own or their community’s interest in real-world STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) further.

Want to help a young person go further?

Know a curious kid in years 5 to 10?

Are they either: Aboriginal and or  Torres Strait Islander; female; from a regional school; or a school from a lower opportunity area?

They could be a STEM Together Future Shaper.

Future Shapers ask questions, create or invent things, or want to make positive change.

We can help them take their interest further with STEM.

They could win an experience with leading CSIRO or industry experts, or choose equipment or technology to keep exploring or creating, or be connected with mentors or their ‘tribe’.

We also recognise those that help these students to learn about STEM.

Family, elders, community leaders, educators and other STEM supporters can also design their own prize.

Students and supporters need to apply or be nominated.
