About
The STEM Conversation Toolkit is for parents and carers of high school students (especially in years 7–10) who want to feel more confident talking about STEM with their child. It helps to spark everyday conversations about Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) and aims to give you simple, practical ways to notice opportunities, ask questions and explore ideas together. Rather than focusing only on school subjects or career choices, readers will find strategies linking STEM to everyday life, from hobbies and news stories to curiosity about how the world works.
This toolkit isn’t designed to be read front to back (though you can if you like!). Instead, it’s designed to give you quick, practical ideas for talking about STEM with your child. Think of it like a menu: take what’s useful, leave what isn’t and return whenever you want fresh ideas or guidance.
