About the initiative
A highly skilled workforce is essential to support NSW industries to successfully transition to a low-carbon economy and reach net zero by 2050.
NSW Skills for Net Zero (the initiative) aims to help NSW transition to a decarbonised economy:
- tertiary students will gain access to decarbonisation-focused career pathways via paid internships
- workplaces contributing to net zero will gain access to a diverse and talented pool of graduates.
The initiative is a paid, net zero-focused, internship program. It will attract NSW-based tertiary students to pursue career pathways that contribute to achieving net zero in NSW.
NSW Skills for Net Zero will facilitate 100 paid, decarbonisation-focused internship placements, from 2025 to 2028.
The initiative is an investment in NSW’s net zero future. It will help accelerate our shift away from fossil fuels towards clean technologies. This opportunity will allow NSW to become a clean energy superpower by contributing to a sustainable pipeline of future professionals in the decarbonisation sector is NSW.
NSW Skills for Net Zero is proudly funded by the NSW Government and delivered by CSIRO.
