About the placement
This internship is with Essential Energy and is facilitated by the CSIRO's Generation STEM Links program.
You will work with experienced specialists in the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) team to analyse data within Essential Energy's core assets and work systems to identify data quality issues and preparing scripts to correct data in these systems. While this is an entry-level position, the intern will receive support to learn the necessary skills.
Work arrangements
- Start date: 1 December, 2025
- Working arrangement: Full Time on a fixed term contract
- Remuneration: $37.04/hour plus super on a temporary contract with Essential Energy
- Location: 8 Buller Street, Port Macquarie NSW 2444
- Accommodation will be made available at the Charles Sturt University campus in Port Macquarie for successful applicants. Costs will be covered by the Intern.
Please note: Port Macquarie is approx. 4.5 hours' drive from Sydney
Desired capabilities
- Studying Data Analytics, Data Engineering
- Strong analytical and written communication skills
- Strong attention to details
- Experience with SQL and ability to understand system data models
- Can pick up new programming quickly and have experience with Python/C/C++/MATLAB/other
- Drivers’ license and NSW White Card (or in process of obtaining)
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Open minded to unexpected challenges and learning on the job
- Interest in future Graduate Program opportunities
Requirements
- Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
- Must be in your penultimate or final year of an undergraduate qualification.
