About the placement
This internship is with Colterlec and is facilitated by the CSIRO’s Generation STEM Links program.
You will work alongside the Operational Systems Manager and external IT support partner to help keep technology running smoothly across the business — from setting up new starters' laptops and phones to helping resolve everyday IT issues. This is a genuine opportunity to build practical skills in device provisioning, account administration, and first-line support, while also getting exposure to how IT fits into a growing company's acquisitions and new site openings.

- Start date: August
- Working arrangement: Casual for 200 hours
- Remuneration: fixed term contract, $33.05 Casuals plus Super
- Location: on-site, Warabrook Office, Newcastle
Desired capabilities
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills, with patience for supporting non-technical colleagues.
- A willingness to learn, ask questions, and take ownership of tasks with guidance.
- Some exposure to or coursework in Microsoft 365 administration. (not essential)
- An interest in or basic knowledge of AI and large language models (LLMs) — you don't need professional experience, just curiosity and a willingness to help others learn. (not essential)
