About the placement

This internship is with OneKidney and is facilitated by the CSIRO’s Generation STEM Links program.

In this internship you will work with the team at OneKidney, a startup developing next generation renal replacement solutions for patients with end stage kidney disease.

As an engineering intern, you will support the design and refinement of OneKidney’s TPMS membrane platform, with a focus on improving filtration efficiency relative to membrane volume. You will contribute to design iterations, assist with performance analysis, and explore modelling or algorithm-based approaches to enhance filtration outcomes. The role will also involve reviewing new and emerging research literature and applying relevant insights to ongoing design work.

You will work within an interdisciplinary team and assist with the design, development and commercialisation of a biomedical product. As an Engineering intern, you will work with an experienced team, contributing to design, 3D printing, and documentation. This opportunity is perfect for a student not only looking to use their engineering skills but to also gain exposure working in a fast-moving start-up environment.
