About the placement

This internship is with Hellers Australia and is facilitated by the CSIRO WA Food Industry Education Collaboration program (WAFEC). If you're looking for a unique opportunity with a large business operating in Australia and New Zealand, this might be the right internship for you!

This internship is an opportunity to apply your knowledge in systems and processes to help drive efficiencies in a fast-moving consumer goods manufacturing environment. The successful intern will work with the Production Manager to:

  • Gain familiarity with a target end-to-end manufacturing line
  • Assess the manufacturing line and identify any bottlenecks
  • Propose and trial (where possible) interventions for efficiency improvements
  • Report findings to the broader team

The intern will leverage their passion for productivity and process engineering to consider a broad range of possible interventions from process inputs, to manufacturing layout, to machinery optimisation and more.
