Narrator: Like you I come to work at CSIRO everyday hoping to make a difference.

Science with impact is at the heart of everything we do.
[Image shows the person drawing a person with a question mark above their head and a maze appears behind them]
But sometimes getting things done around here can be complex.
[Image shows the person drawing a door with the word ‘Change’, a building with the word ‘Reshape’, and building blocks with the word ‘Simplify’]
We’ve gone through a lot of change to reshape our organisation and simplify things, but there’s still more we can do.
[Image shows the person drawing documents and a road]
Imagine if our business processes were easy to understand, our systems were easier to use, and our data easier to access.
[Image shows the person drawing a person with a thought bubble above their head containing various symbols and then writing the words ‘Easier’]
Wouldn’t it be great if we only had to do administrative activities that actually helped us prioritise and deliver our research?
[Image shows the person writing the words ‘Wouldn’t it be GREAT if...’ and then drawing documents in an in tray, a set of traffic lights, and a delivery truck]
How much more could we achieve if it was easier to collaborate with others across CSIRO to turn ideas into projects, and projects into impact?
[Image shows the person drawing a graph, hands in a handshake, a light bulb, people, and writing the word ‘Impact’]
All this is possible, but it’s a long journey, and there are no easy fixes.
[Image shows the person drawing people walking along a road beside a sign that says ‘No easy fixes!’]
We know that change is hard and can sometimes be uncomfortable.
[Image shows the person drawing a person playing Twister]
This journey needs leadership, courage, and commitment from all of us.
[Image shows the person drawing a compass, a heart, and legs walking]
We have a new strategic direction that asks us to be more inclusive, more collaborative, and to focus on our customers.
[Image changes to show the person drawing people standing on the top of a mountain, a group of people, hands in a handshake, and a magnifying glass placed over the word ‘Customers]
To support this strategy we need to increase the transparency and visibility of what we do across CSIRO.
[Image changes to show the person drawing a group of people holding a sign that says ‘Strategy’, an arrow pointing upwards, an eye looking through three glasses, and an arrow banner that says ‘CSIRO DO’]
We all need to embrace a new way of getting things done.
[Image changes to show the person drawing a man, with a speech bubble that says ‘Embrace’, jumping over an obstacle with the words ‘New Way’, and a checklist]
A new way of working that lets each one of us help to make our new strategy a success.
[Image changes as the person writes the words ‘New way of WORKING’ and then draws a group of people standing around a sign that says ‘New Strategy’ and then drawing a prize ribbon]
Opportunity to Delivery, or O2D, is a new and simpler way of doing things, supported by new processes and tools that will help us to make better investment decisions, to work more collaboratively, and to share information across the organisation.
[Image changes to show the person writing the letters ‘O2D’ and then drawing a man trying to climb a wall, a man helping another man climb the wall with a ladder, new tools, and a thought bubble with various idea icons, hands in a handshake, and an arrow appearing over the CSIRO building]
Ultimately we’ll have greater freedom to be creative and innovative, and we’ll have better visibility of what we do.
[Image changes to show the person drawing a person being released from shackles, writing tools, and a light bulb, and a torch with the words ‘Great Science; Breakthrough innovation’]
It’ll be easier to work with each other and with our customers outside of CSIRO.
[Image changes to show the person writing the word ‘Easier’ and then drawing two people standing on the word CSIRO, and then drawing a person waving]
We’ll be able to spend more productive time on the stuff that really matters, and to perform to our true potential as Australia’s National Science and Industrial Research Agency.
[Image changes to show the person drawing an alarm clock and writing the words ‘stuff that really matters’]
[Image changes to show the person drawing a winner’s podium, an outline of Australia, and writing the words ‘National Science and Industrial Research Agency’]
To see how O2D can help make that happen have a look at the O2D intranet site and talk to your leadership team.
[Image changes to show the person drawing two people, a computer with the words ‘O2D intranet site’, and speech bubbles with an arrow pointing to the words ‘Leadership Team’]
