Sweta Balakrishna and Tim Phillips are Space Operator Engineers at Saber Astronautics.
From the age of eight Sweta Balakrishna had a pretty good idea what she wanted to do later in life.
The space topics presented in school along with early discussions on the space industry motivated Sweta to follow her passion for space through university.
As a Spacecraft Operations Engineer at Saber Astronautics, Sweta is a member of the operations team responsible for operating and monitoring satellites and spacecraft from the Responsive Space Operations Centre in Adelaide, Australia.
In her role, she also works with the infrastructure team on the development of Saber's operating systems.
Tim Phillips would tell you his roots are in South Australia even though he spent much of his childhood travelling the world.
Before securing his role as a Space Operator Engineer at Saber Astronautics Tim had prepared himself for a potential overseas move to find work in the space industry.
With the creation of the Australian Space Agency and a rapidly growing Australian space industry, Tim managed to secure a position at Saber’s Responsive Space Operations Centre in Adelaide, South Australia
