About the placement

Patties Food Group is a leader of Australia & New Zealand's favourite pre-prepared, convenience and snacking food brands. Patties Food Group are looking for a quality assurance intern to support a unique project working across their Quality Assurance (QA) systems. Leveraging their understanding passion for quality food products, the successful candidate will undertake a variety of QA activities, such as:

  • Reviewing work instructions and operating procedures / manuals
  • Undertaking equipment swabbing and hygiene analysis
  • Undertaking risk assessments
  • Identifying any potential hygiene vulnerabilities on the processing line
  • Liaising with external laboratories as needed

The successful candidate will gain invaluable practical experience, whilst contributing to a large-scale QA project and delivering high-quality food products.

Work arrangements

  • Start date: November
  • Working arrangement: 200 hours on a casual contract
  • Renumeration: $31.19 plus super on a casual contract
  • Location: 14 Neil Street, Osborne Park, WA  6017
  • Hours: Subject to candidate availability, but must be able to accommodate a minimum of two full day shifts per week (between Monday to Friday and regular business hours)

Desired capabilities

  • Passion for quality assurance
  • Willingness to learn new skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail, particularly when reviewing written documents
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team
  • Knowledge of common QC tests required in a food environment
  • Prior experience in a food processing or manufacturing environment will be looked on favourably

Requirements

  • Must be currently living in Western Australia
  • Must be enrolled in a relevant Food Science or Technology university qualification
  • Must be able to organise own travel to and from work site location (public transport is close by)
  • Must have be able to be legally employed within Australia
  • Must be physically fit and able for work
