This internship is with Hellers Australia and is facilitated by the CSIRO WA Food Industry Education Collaboration program (WAFEC). Hellers Australia are one of the Australia’s leading suppliers and manufacturers of value-added meat products and looking for a quality assurance intern to support an internal audit of quality assurance systems. Leveraging their understanding of quality assurance processes and passion for quality food products, the successful candidate will work with the Quality Assurance Manager to analyse current systems, assess current processes against industry standards, and provide recommendations for efficiency improvements. The successful candidate will also help the Quality Assurance Manager to prepare for external and internal audits.
Work arrangements
- Start date: May / June
- Working arrangement: Part time for 200 hours on a fixed term contract, with the possibility of further employment for the right candidate
- Renumeration: $25 per hour plus super
- Location: 12 Marriott Rd, Jandakot WA 6164
- Hours: Flexible days but must be able to accommodate Monday to Friday shift hours (AM shift 5am to 1pm and PM shift is 1pm to 9pm)
Desired capabilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Willingness to learn
- Attention to detail
- Proficiency in the use of the MS Office suite
- Ability to follow direction and work independently
- Understanding of quality assurance verification activities will be looked on favourably
Requirements
- Must be currently living in Western Australia
- Must be enrolled in a relevant Food Science or Technology university qualification (final year undergraduate or postgraduate)
- Must be able to organise own travel to and from work site location
