The Disability Inclusion and Access Action Plan (the Plan) outlines the actions CSIRO will take to contribute towards an inclusive culture and become disability confident.
Building disability confidence makes us more capable of providing a supportive, positive, and inclusive environment for our current and future team members living with disability. This Plan also includes our people caring for someone living with disability.
The Plan is registered with the Australian Human Rights Commission. It demonstrates a commitment to inclusive policies and practices and compliance with the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth). Specific actions will be developed by those identified as responsible for each objective and monitored and reported on annually.
We welcome feedback at any time through PeopleCentral@csiro.au.
Our vision
CSIRO’s vision is to be disability confident, increasing our capability to provide more supportive, positive and inclusive environments for current and future team members living with disability, or caring for people with disability.
Purpose
Implementing a disability inclusion and access plan assists workplaces like ours with a structured, accessible and measurable framework to identify, adopt and implement change.
Our Plan identifies what strategic and legislative requirements we will meet, and identifies areas for improvement in a phased, coordinated and responsible approach.
Our objectives
CSIRO respects the diversity, individual strengths and natural talent that people living with disability, and carers bring to our organisation. The Plan is a road map for action.
Our Plan places an emphasis on the recruitment, development and inclusion of people living with disability and carers of people with disability. Our objectives are framed around our people, organisation and the broader community, to realise individual, group and systemic change.
Successful implementation of the objectives will support our commitment to being disability confident and being an employer that provides support for our people, in a positive and inclusive environment that addresses systemic barriers for people living with disability and their carers.
