About
Investigate and Innovate with CSIRO Education Resources are designed to engage students in Years 5-10 in authentic, real-world science through structured, investigations connected to CSIRO research. Each resource package includes a teacher-guided PowerPoint presentation and a suite of hands-on student activities that support explicit teaching while progressively building inquiry skills. The activities are aligned to specific stages of the Scientific Inquiry Continuum, allowing teachers to scaffold learning from limited and structured inquiry through to guided and open investigations.
To further support purposeful investigative learning, the resources are framed using the Australian Academy of Science Education Launch–Inquire–Act (LIA) Framework, which provides a clear and engaging sequence for introducing concepts, examining scientific ideas through exploration, and applying learning to real-world contexts.
