Your personal information is protected by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act). CSIRO will handle your information in accordance with this Act.

Your personal information will be collected for the purpose of administering, delivering and making future improvements to the CSIRO Innovation Programs including (but not limited to) ON Core, ON Accelerate, ON Translation Studio, ON Runway Services, ON Prime, ON Prime Lite, Research to Value Workshop, Launch Camp, Market & Community Discovery, D.Start Spark, D.Start Fuze and D.Start Ignite (the Innovation Programs).

The personal information that CSIRO may collect includes:

  1. your name
  2. your contact details, including you email, telephone number and location including postal/residential address
  3. your organisation
  4. your role in the Team
  5. your Australian Business Number (ABN)
  6. your gender
  7. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander status
  8. your career experience including LinkedIn profile
  9. your accessibility needs
  10. any dietary requirements
  11. your financial information, including bank details
  12. your opinions and views shared via Program sessions, which may be recorded from time-to-time
  13. videos, photographs or images of you which may be recorded for the purposes of delivering the programs, or for marketing and advertising networking events; and
  14. your opinions for an evaluation survey to be completed at the end of the Program.

If your personal information is not collected, we may not be able to adequately respond to your application or otherwise facilitate and deliver the Innovation Program to you.

As part of administering and delivering the Innovation Programs, CSIRO may disclose your personal information for the purposes of enabling mentoring and networking sessions, receiving and processing program evaluation information, and creating promotional material in relation to the Innovation Programs.

To assist CSIRO making future improvements to the Innovation Programs, CSIRO may share your personal information with third party service providers, including research institutes, for the purposes of conducting evaluations and analysis of the Innovation Programs.

One of the third-party service providers CSIRO may share your personal information with for the purpose of ongoing monitoring and evaluation processes is Research Triangle Institute (RTI, ABN 86 167 415 812). While RTI is based in the United States, it is required to use an Australian-based servers for any personal information CSIRO provides.

If you are involved in a D.Start program that is delivered by CSIRO in partnership with the Australian Department of Defence (Defence), your personal information will also be disclosed to Defence for the purpose of facilitating the delivery of the program, and to benefit you and your organisation by linking you with potential contacts and/or end users of your technology, product or service. Your personal information will be managed by Defence in accordance with the Defence Privacy Policy.

CSIRO may also disclose your personal information (such as contact details) to other Australian innovation programs or experts for the purpose of connecting you / your organisation to other research translation opportunities, knowledge disciplines, potential contacts and/or end users of your technology, product, or service.
