Overview

The ON Foundational Skills Workshops are designed to give researchers a practical, confidence-building introduction to key skills that support successful research careers. Strengthen your capabilities and broaden your perspective on what drives impactful research.

These focused learning sessions will equip you with practical skills, tools and system-level understanding of effective research translation and core entrepreneurial competencies.

They also serve as an accessible entry point into the broader ON Program suite. Join these flexible, low-commitment workshops to explore innovation at your own pace, with the option to build further toward real-world impact through our ON Prime and ON Accelerate programs.

What to expect

  • Accessible online workshops, each 1.5 hours long.
  • Focused learning experiences providing practical skills, tools and system level understanding.
  • Strengthened confidence, communication capability and ability to engage with industry.
  • Interactive activities led by experienced industry experts.
  • An understanding of which ON Program would best support your research translation journey.

Eligibility

Open to researchers at any career stage from Australian research organisations. No prior commercial or entrepreneurial experience required.

How to attend

Our workshops are free for researchers to attend – simply register for the workshop(s) of your choosing in our What’s ON calendar.

The online workshops are held throughout the year, with each event focusing on a core capability that supports research translation and impact.

Session recordings are only provided to those that attend.
