The app has been developed and is owned by CSIRO. When you download and use the app, the app will be hosted on either your personal Meta device or on a Meta device owned by your organisation. CSIRO does not have access to any of the information collected via your download and use of the app.
Whilst it is not intended for Meta to have access to any of the information collected via your use of the app, depending on your/your organisation's device settings, it is possible that Meta may have access to the information collected via your download and use of the app. When you wear/use a Meta device, it is typical that you perform certain actions/movements such as head movement and pushing buttons on the controllers. These actions/movements will interact with the simulated world(s) running on the VR headset. The app uses some of this information in order to provide you with an immersive and interactive experience. The information will only be retained temporarily by the app whilst it is running.
In addition, Meta will collect personal information such as your/your organisation's Meta account details, and the time and date that you downloaded the app from the Meta Application Store. The times and dates of downloads will be de-identified and aggregated by Meta before they are provided to CSIRO. By downloading and using the app, you acknowledge that all information collected by Meta will be handled in accordance with Meta's Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy available at Oculus Privacy Policy and at Supplemental Meta Platforms Technologies Privacy Policy, and not CSIRO’s.
