ACDP is a high-containment laboratory with a Large Animal Facility able to operate at Physical Containment levels 3 and 4 (PC3 and PC4).
Though nearly all our diagnostics and research is performed using cell and tissue culture, there are instances where live animals are the only option. An example of when animals may be used in research would be in the final tests of the efficacy of a new vaccine.
Animal welfare
