This research resulted in development and substantiation of the CSIRO Low Carb Diet, a nutritionally complete, energy controlled prescriptive meal plan lower in carbohydrate and proportionally higher in protein and unsaturated (healthy) fat.
The CSIRO Low Carb Diet focuses on the use of quality carbohydrate foods with low glycemic index (GI). Importantly, the CSIRO Low Carb Diet has a low glycemic load due to the lower amount of carbohydrates that the diet provides in total across the day.
