We are leveraging Australia's significant artificial intelligence (AI) expertise to advance the impact of Missions, raise the global profile of Australian AI and boost Australian industry.
What are our focus areas?
We aim to create novel AI research and develop large technology platforms that will enable Missions. We are focussed on translation and accelerating impact in Missions using AI:
- Data centred AI: involves sensing technologies, data generation, information processing and modelling, and analytics
- Human centred AI: focusses on robotics, reasoning, natural language processing and augmented reality
- Scientific AI: develops novel AI methods to accelerate scientific discovery and engineering
How are we doing this?
We have identified key research activities that cover several multi-disciplinary projects using capability across the organisation. Those projects include postdoctoral fellowships and PhD student scholarships. Working with the National AI Centre, we are developing collaborative projects to foster innovation across the Australian AI ecosystem.
What's next?
Partner with us by collaborating on large projects aligned with the CSIRO Missions. We are looking for university and industry collaboration as well as new talent interested in joining the organisation.
